Kristy Brown

Kristy BrownI’m a 47 year old IT professional, mom and wife living in Colchester, Vermont. After growing up in Vermont I lived in Colorado and Rhode Island before returning home to get my graduate degree in business and I’ve stayed here since.  This summer will be my 5th season mountain biking after I picked up the sport during the start of the lockdown of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. This sport has grown from being my passion to a family adventure with both my 11 year old son getting a bike as well as my husband getting back into it through the access of e-assist biking last summer. It is so great to enjoy something as a family. Once the trails are clear you’ll find me on much of the Fellowship of the Wheel trail network close to home or taking a drive to Cady Hill, Perry Hill or Kingdom Trails to squeeze every opportunity for riding during the very short Vermont season. Though tempted to start fat biking, in the winter I downhill ski and added backcountry/uphill skiing to my activities a couple of years ago. I love living in Vermont and take advantage of all the outdoors has to offer.

Mountain biking has filled my desire for adventure and to push myself both physically and mentally. As a plus sized woman in a male and small body sized dominant sport, I want to expand the definition of mountain biker and help make this sport welcome to all. My experience as a Kaden Ambassador last season created a vision of how I can encourage and help other women explore this sport in safe and inviting groups. I look forward to spreading the joy of riding this season in my activities as a Kaden Ambassador!
