2021 Kaden Ambassador Jillian BejtlichJillian is a lifelong New Englander who fell in love with bikes hard and fast… and entirely by accident. After sort of casually riding heavy, poor fitting bikes for years, she tried mountain biking and off the side of a trail, upside down in a ditch declared for all the world to hear, “I hate biking. I quit.” It took her a few years to ditch the dusty bike sitting in the shed and grab a dual sport bike, “…just to have for getting around if I want.”

Little did Jillian know, that new bike actually fit right for the first time in her life would make bikes suddenly bikes fun! So fun that she signed up for a 30-day challenge through TrailForks, took that dual sport everywhere it shouldn’t have gone, and the rest is history. She quickly fell in love with a full suspension bike, then a gravel bike, built a fat bike, and is waiting on her XC bike. She solidly believes the right number of bikes is N+1.

Jillian enjoys dabbling in all types of biking but has determined she loves XC the most and keeps getting sucked towards ultra-style events. She’s currently training for the 2021 Vermont Overland, planning a 50-mile adventure ride, and eyeballing some other big races in 2022.

Outside all of that, Jillian volunteers as a moderator and admin for a few bike groups including the largest women only mountain biking group (Mountain Biking Ladies) and a few smaller local clubs. She loves talking about bikes… and snacks.

  • Current city, state: Litchfield, NH
  • Day job: Community Strategist & Architect
  • Favorite bike: I can’t pick just one. I love them all equally.
  • Number of bikes in your quiver? 3 (Rioja the Full Squish, Gronckle the Graveler, and Wildebeest the Fattie), but soon to be 4 with an yet-to-be-named XC bike
  • Clipless or flats? Flats on everyone except the gravel bike
  • Ice cream or popsicles? Ice cream. If you haven’t had Richardson’s out of Middleton, MA, you are missing out.
  • Tacos or burritos? Tacos forever and ever.
  • Favorite place to ride? All around New England, but my local area (Musquash) is one of my favorites.
  • Bucket list bike trip? West Highland Way in Scotland. It’s a 96 mile walking trail with over 10,000 feet of elevation gain. Definitely not designed for bikes, but some people have done it and I want to be one of them!
  • Go-to activity when not biking? In the summer, SUPing. In the winter, ski touring or split boarding.
