The Kokopelli Maternity Mountain Bike Shorts from Kaden Apparel are made out of comfortable, yet highly durable, 4-way stretch fabric. The light and airy board-short-esque fabric will make them become your go-to mountain bike, hiking, or all-around adventure shorts. They’re simple, low-profile, and can keep up during all of your adventures. The Kokopelli Shorts are a maternity version of our beloved Pinner Shorts.
Fit
The shorts are designed to be slightly fitted in all the right areas. The stretchy fabric gives a comfortable amount of room in the butt and thigh areas, to accommodate a variety of different sized riders. There is ample room to wear knee pads with the shorts, if desired.
Belly band
The belly band fabric is incredibly soft and supportive with a slight curve under the belly for maximum comfort. The belly band can be worn up or rolled down to whatever height you prefer. It’s designed to be smooth, wide, and is elastic-free so it doesn’t dig into your belly.
Length
The inseam length is 9”. The length of the shorts come down to slightly above the knee for most riders. They can also be rolled up if you prefer to go even shorter.
Pockets
There are two rear pockets with decorative top-stitching to represent the Kaden logo. The right side zippered phone pocket is large enough for an iPhone or Android, keys, or a small snack.
Tested thoroughly
We’ve been using this fabric for multiple years now, testing it by wearing the same pair every day on a 5-day cycling trip. By day 5, they retained their shape, looked great, and you couldn’t even tell they had over 200 miles ridden in them without washing. For trips like that, you can even hand wash them and they’ll be dry in no time.

Where did the name come from? The Kokopelli Shorts were named after the Kokopelli trail system, which is part of the iconic Whole Enchilada trail in Moab, UT. Kaden’s founder rode this trail at 17 weeks pregnant, rolling down her regular shorts and wishing she had some more room for her belly, and vowed then to make a maternity baggy bike short.
